Liton Asaduzzaman Sarkar is the Founder and Main Contributor of LegalBD, and the architect of its editorial and advisory philosophy. Called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln's Inn in 2008 and enrolled as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, he holds an LL.M. in Company Law from Northumbria University, United Kingdom (awarded with Commendation), an LL.B. (Honours) from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Capital Market (PGDCM) from the Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM).
Over more than 17 years of independent practice at the Bar, Mr. Sarkar has built a distinguished record spanning corporate and commercial law, banking transactions, fintech regulatory structuring, securities compliance, corporate governance advisory, and both litigious and non-litigious dispute resolution. Enrolled at the Bar in 1985 and a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) since 1990, he was formally designated as a Senior Advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in 2024 — the apex professional distinction conferred upon advocates of exceptional standing, learning, and experience. He is additionally a member of the Dhaka Taxes Bar since 1999, reflecting a parallel four-decade engagement with revenue and fiscal jurisprudence.
